All Parents

Since you are already here, you have found the right place.  Bookmark our home page at melroseyouthsoccer.org.  This is your starting point for everything Melrose Youth Soccer.  It even supports Google Translate (see the dropdown on the lower right) if you need to swap from English to some other language.

To login to the site, you will need an account in this registration system.  You can start that process easily using the LOGIN button above.  You will need to enter all of the usual information appropriate for a new account.  Note that if you have created an account using a SportsConnect site for another organization (such as Mass Youth Soccer or as Melrose Rec Department), SportsConnect may transfer some of that information over to your Melrose account which might skip some initial steps setting up your account.

After you have a working account on this site, you can LOGIN using the button in the banner and switch to your account (if you aren't there already) with the "MY ACCOUNT" button.  You can manage your existing info on that page and chose to Volunteer or find a link to your child's team page if they have been assigned to a team.

Under each player listed in the account, you'll see text for any program in which they have been registered.  The first section of the text will show the program in which they are registered.  The second section will show the grade grouping.  And after they have been assigned to a team, you'll see that in the third section of the text.

If you add a player in the future, you can do so using the "Add Player" button.

Adding an Adult

Our SportsConnect accounts start with a primary account holder, the parent, managing the account and adding child players to the account.  You may also want to add a spouse/partner/caregiver to your account so they get updates about the players too.  To add an Additional User account to an existing Primary account, go to your My Account page (and login if needed), click on the gear icon, scroll to the bottom to, and click on the plus sign to add an Additional Account Holder.  Enter the adult information there and that e-mail address will receive an invitation.  That adult should then click on the e-mailed invitation to accept the account and then they will be able to log in to SportsConnect too.

Do not have that second adult start by adding their own account to the system.  Once that is done, the adult can't be added to an existing account (we have that in as an enhancement request).  If you find that you have two active accounts where one account can see things that the other can't, send a message to [email protected] with the two adult names that should be merged.  And for security reasons, both adults with accounts will need to give their okay to have the accounts merged.

Note that TeamApp is merely an extension of SportsConnect so the way you add adults to an account in TeamApp is to add them in the SportsConnect system as described above.  Then they will automatically be set up for TeamApp.

Volunteering to Coach

Our organization is 100% volunteer run and that includes our coaches.  Most roles require very little soccer knowledge and we will help you learn what you will need to do to coach.

If you have not yet volunteered for a coaching role or team parent role, you can do so from the My Account view.  Use the Volunteer link in the left navigation bar and then click on Find Volunteer Roles.  You can add a volunteer role for yourself or for a secondary user or the secondary user can volunteer themselves.

Managing E-mail Subscriptions

We try to limit the number of messages we send out but inevitably, you will get messages that aren't direction applicable to you.  Unfortunately, the SportsConnect software has only one "list" for mailing.  If you click to unsubscribe, you effectively opting out of all communication from us including announcements about registration and details about your player's team assignment and weather cancelation notices, etc..   For that reason, we recommend that the primary adult in the account who is keeping track of information remain subscribed to mailings.

If you have previously unsubscribed (perhaps thinking that you were just unsubscribing from a particular list) and want to re-subscribe to again get important info, you can do that yourself in My Account using the section for "Email Settings".

Updating a Player Picture

Every fall, you should update each of your Travel player pictures since they are used for ID on the field.  (City players don't need player pictures uploaded.)  Even if you have a picture you like from years ago, it's better to have a more accurate and up to date picture of each player in the system so that referees don't need to work to connect the player they see on the field to the picture.

1. Take a new picture of your player on your phone and save it to your photo library.  Make sure the photo is of the player only (no siblings, pets, etc.), from the top of the shoulders up and without any hats, sunglasses, etc.. Since these photos are for IDs and refs will use them to identify players, the better the picture the less hassle on the field at game time.
2. Still on your phone, login to your account
3. Tap the pencil icon next to your Travel player’s name.
4a. If there already is a picture, tap Change in the photo circle and click Replace Photo
4b. If there is no picture, tap Upload Profile Picture in the photo circle
5. Use your phone’s photo library to choose the photo you took in step 1 and then tap Save Photo
6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Save

Travel League Parents

The travel schedule is publicly available to everyone at https://myslfall25.sportsaffinity.com/.  Parents can go there and either search by team name or select the “Flight” (grade and division) of your team and then look in the schedule.  It shows the field location and has a link to a map.  All of the info that parents used in Middlesex’s former SportsManager system is visible here through the other tabs on the top.
